Abstract

Critical materials are being considered as important due to their contribution to high-tech industries. Due to the increasing demand in the economy massive amount of production is required. Many of them are extracted only in few countries which are resulting for the rest of the world facing supply risk. Additionally, the necessity to protect the environment is great conscious in present world which conflicts the idea of reckless extraction from nature. In this study we constituted a general flow analysis of a specific material Indium by using system dynamic (SD) simulation modeling. Vensim PLE software has been used to prepare the model. The result we found from the experiment demonstrates it is possible to increase Indium stock by 38% by improving the efficiency of current scrap recycling process from 65% to 94% and implementing end product recycling technology.
