on the organizational literature, this conceptual paper argues that a supply
chain can have a unique culture that fosters consistent practice adoption and
value diffusion among its members. We identify examples of supply chain
cultures (e.g. a sustainability-oriented culture). We then define supply chain
culture as the values, beliefs, and sets of stories, frames,
categories, practices, and rituals that underlie the business model of
the buying firm. We hence distinguish the characteristics and dimensions of a
supply chain culture and argue that creating and fostering supply chain culture
can involve a diffusion process involving a shift to new logics.
