Abstract

Color laser marking technology has such undeniable advantages as brightness, contrast, high resolution and minimal effect on the material. However, as for any industrial implementation of innovative technology, the main factors remaining are result repeatability, received marking stability under an aggressive condition and its productivity. In this article, we consider the issues of increasing the color laser marking performance. Compared to the previously known parameters of color laser marking, the proposed modes allow increasing the time of recording of one cm2 up to 40 times. Also, we demonstrate the possibility of adjusting the result color by re-processing the marking area, which will significantly reduce the spoilage amount in case of equipment failure. Moreover, we have also considered the problem of color stability in terms of chemical and environmental resistance. Color laser marks on titanium showed very high sustainability to various chemicals, such as salts and acids, and also can stand the high and low temperatures at high humidity level. These results are essential to industrial implementation of this technology and open new perspectives in industrial design, as well as visual arts and decoration.
