Abstract

This paper addresses issues in real-time identification of mechanical driveline parameters of a hybridelectric
bus. The mechanical system is excited by an artificially generated excitation signal, namely a
pseudo-random binary signal (PRBS), and the parameters are identified using a recursive output error
algorithm with filtered observations (OEFO). The identification routine is experimentally validated by
using a hybridized bus as a test vehicle and considering on-road measurements with a moderate velocity
in series electric operation mode.
