Abstract

Gallium nitride (GaN) switches have superior switching performance when compared to the traditional Si technology. Therefore, GaN switches are an appealing option for power converters and electrical drives. In this paper, considerations for a high-speed electrical drive with inverter switching frequency of 1 MHz are presented, along with simulation results of the motor control of the drive.
