Abstract
This research attempts to produce new knowledge on next generation value network control mechanisms and user interface solutions. Solutions including both products and services are typically based on users' specific problems. One could therefore anticipate that customers' (internal or external) purchasing decisions are made based on rational, sys-tematic decision-making criteria. However, there are several developments that are against this assumption. Since the emphasis of the "systemic component" in the solutions increase, and the service-dominant logic generally gets more attention in manufacturing firms, the elements which are more difficult to measure or assess quantitatively will play a more central role in future industrial solutions. Thus, there is a need for new multi-disciplinary approaches to combine the theories in industrial management, decision sciences, and psychology to explore the variety of decision-making factors affecting to the success or failure of the solution.
