Research Interest
Lignocellulose is an abundant, renewable substance which is currently being studied to be used as a raw material source for fuel, chemicals, biomaterials and for energy production. Profound understanding of the behavior of the lignocellulose in different process conditions, e.g. when it is chemically, enzymatically or thermally modified is crucial when planning new processes to be safe, economical and by taking advantage as much as possible from all components and side streams. Thesis include laboratory experiments and characterization of processed lignocelluloses by using chromatographic (GC, HPLC) and electrophoretic (CE) methods.
