Biography
Usama Awan (sam) is junior researcher at Industrial engineering and management from School of Business and management, Lappeenranta University of Technology, Lappeenranta, Finland, and and holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Statistics from Islamia University (1998), a M.B.A. from Quaid-i-Azam University (2002), a M.Sc. in Business Administration from the Malardalen University (2010). His research falls in the areas of buyer-supplier relationships, product development and sustainable development. My teaching interest in sustainable business management practices, sustainability issues in international business, sustainability Marketing,sustainable operations management and buyer-supplier relationship in international perspective. Usama also has five years university-level teaching experience. He has taught different courses to undergraduate business and MBA level at COMSATS University, Islamabad (Times higher education (THE) Ranking 700-800, and, Usama has over 7 years of Middle-level operations management experience in the world top 50 e-passport supplier Information Technology organization (www.nadra.gov.pk).In addition to this, he has also 4 years junior researcher experience at School of business and management, Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland (www.lut.fi).

Research Interest
In 2010, I have started my research in the field of green marketing. Especially, I focus on the resource reduction strategies, consequently, in 2013, I started work on environmental sustainability-related issues. Presently, I have started my doctoral research in the filed of inter-firm relationship and social sustainability issues.
Usama (Sam’s) research interest focuses primarily on exploring when and how integration organizational practices at firm operations level can generate sustainability and market performances. My research focuses on multiple ways through which manufacturing firms within the supply chain relationship successfully adopt environmental management (greener production and socially sustainable) in their supply chain. Sam’s most recent research interest focuses on how manufacturing firm’s Internet of things, big data management influencing and development activities that deliver a digital transnational change of the sustainable supply chain. In the pipeline, I hope to continue my research in a circular economy with a special focus on digital innovation practices and application of internet of things in business to business relationships. In the future, my research will focus around topics of new forms of sustainability design in organizations, circular economy initiatives, and role of the internet of things in the circular economy and sustainability,He has over 20 (Scopus and web of science indexed) high-quality International peer-reviewed scientific publications (including JUFO2, ISI, ABS2, ESCI) with over 260 citations. He has Scopus (h-Index 6), Google Scholar (h-Index 9).

Teaching Experience
Usama also has five years university-level teaching experience. He has taught different courses to undergraduate business and MBA level at COMSATS University, Islamabad (Times higher education (THE) Ranking 700-800, and Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) (www.comsats.edu.pk). In addition to his academic and research experience, Usama has over 7 years of Middle-level operations management experience in the world top 50 e-passport supplier Information Technology organization (www.nadra.gov.pk).
My teaching mainly concerns operations management, Industrial Marketing, business to business relationship management, but also areas in relations to my research, such as product design for the circular economy, system thinking approach, and innovation. Most of my previous teaching experience is a Bachelor of Business Administration level (BBA) and Master of business administration level (MBA), where, I function as course supervisor, and academic coordinator for the MBA course. I supervise bachelor and master students.
