Research Interest
The research concentrates on the utilization of low voltage direct current (LVDC) in public electricity distribution. LVDC has proven to be a promising technological solution for developing the the networks cost-effectively and consequently responding to the needs of increasing flexibility and quality of supply in the electricity distribution. Suitable application targets for the LVDC distribution can be found globally ranging from rural to urban areas and thus the operational environments differ greatly. The main research objective is to develop methodology for determining the potential targets and technical solutions, depending on the characteristics of the operational environment.
