Research Interest
Main research interests are packaging technology and material converting technology with an emphasis on die cutting and press forming processes. Also forming tool development and substrate/tool interaction are key features of the study area. The main research scope is to develop control methods of the press forming process and to determine essential properties of the forming tool machinery. Tool geometry, tool heating arrangement and blank preparation in addition to effect of material properties of the converted substrate are included to research work. Study produces knowledge for successful setup of the press forming machinery and for selection of process parameters. Research work provides insights to utilization of renewable fibre based packaging materials and thus possibilities for replacement of oil-based materials.
