Biography
Junior researcher Tiina Virtanen works in the research group of Membrane Technology in Lappeenranta University of Technology. Her PhD project has focused on real-time monitoring of membrane fouling and on unveiling fouling mechanisms of ligneous and phenolic compounds. She holds a master's degree in nanoscience, majoring in organic chemistry from University of Jyväskylä.

Research Interest
Development of tools for real time identifying of fouling layer growth and understanding the fouling mechanisms of ligneous compounds on membrane surfaces.
