Research Interest
I'm Professor (tenured) of Fluid Mechanics and Head of Research group of Fluid Dynamics in the School of Energy Systems in LUT University, Finland. Previously, I was an Academy Research Fellow (from 2011 to 2016). Generally, my research interests are related to energy conversion cycles and devices such as Organic Rankine Cycles (ORC), Supercritical Brayton Cycles, steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, and radial turbines. In the research of steam turbines, I have focused on the modelling of condensing flows and the effect of turbulence on it. The research of centrifugal compressors consist of the numerical and experimental work and the main aim is to understand and diminish losses occurring in the compressors. I’m also leading the research project in which the ORC test unit has been designed and built. The ORC test unit is located in the Laboratory of Fluid Dynamics at LUT.

Teaching Experience
I’m currently lecturing on four M.Sc. level courses in computational fluid dynamics, turbulence models, gas dynamics, and the modelling of energy systems. Previously, I have also been lecturing about the design and construction of a turbomachinery.
