Biography
Jero Ahola was born in Lappeenranta, Finland, in 1974. He received the M.Sc. and D.Sc. degrees Electrical Engineering from Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT), Lappeenranta, Finland, in 1999 and 2003, respectively. He works currently as a full Professor (Energy efficiency in electrically driven systems) at the Department of Electrical Engineering, LUT. He is heading Laboratory of Control Engineering and Digital Systems as well as a multidisciplinary REFLEX research platform (Recycling carbon in a flexible competitive energy system). Jero Ahola is a representative of Finland (Alternative Exco & Task 1) in IEA Photovoltaic Power Systems Program. The current research interest of Jero Ahola include power-to-x, solar power, energy efficiency pump, fan, and compressor systems, inverter-induced bearing currents, and power-line communication in smart grids. At LUT Jero teaches digital electronics, embedded systems and energy efficiency.
